First Low-Cost "Teleconvenience" Product
Disaster recovery plans for IT help desks typically do not exist. And yet, help desks provide
critical support services necessary for managing today’s complex corporate networks.
Development of IT business continuity and disaster recovery plans has traditionally occurred
after a disaster, rather than before one has occurred. Typical reasons for not developing
plans include 1) too costly, 2) not needed, 3) "we've never had a disaster," 4) too
time-consuming, 5) need outside help, 6) low priority item, and others.
Now, disaster recovery plan development for help desk professionals is a snap! A new
software product, Help Desk Disaster Recovery Plan (HD/DRP) is the latest in a series of
planned "Teleconvenience" products, which include TC/DRP (voice communications),
DC/DRP (local area networks), and CC/DRP (call centers).
HD/DRP is the first low-cost software product developed to help IT professionals develop
their own help desk disaster recovery plans. A disaster recovery plan defines processes
which can help a company sustain its business in an outage.
HD/DRP features a series of word processing files that can be customized by the user to
his/her own specifications. It provides sufficient resources, in a convenient and easy-to-use
form, so that users can 1) develop an initial disaster recovery plan, 2) enhance existing IT
disaster recovery plans, or 3) provide a low-cost "second opinion" when reviewing existing
help desk or other plans.
HD/DRP provides a series of ready-to-use disaster recovery plan document files. It
eliminates the hassles associated with writing your own plan.
HD/DRP is easy to use. Simply load an individual document file into a standard word
processor. Then you or a member of your staff can easily customize the files to your
specifications.
HD/DRP lets you select any combination of document files, thus providing development
flexibility. When you have finished, your disaster recovery plan is virtually ready to use.
HD/DRP comes with all document and supporting files on a CD-ROM.
HD/DRP is distributed in Microsoft Word file format.
HD/DRP comes with an easy-to-use instruction guide. Your time is valuable; we won't drown
you in documentation.
1998, CD-ROM. Order #DR317.
